How old should a kid be before they get a phone?

Im and I have been begging my Dad for one for about years now. I finally got one for Christmas!!!!!! It really all depends on your kids maturity level, if you think they can handle a phone and not abuse it then go for it but make sure that they are responsible enough. Hope I helped!!!!!!!!!!!
