Question

I am . Is that too young to have a cell phone for emergency reasons?

Answer

NO. But, the final call is the parents. I just know that cell phones have saved many of the lost and kidnapped kids, just this year, in America.brbrAll my children get them. Plus, they have several local phones here, to call their parents, as I am always here for them, after school, with snacks! It helps everyone keep track. brbrIt gives them instant access to a parent, , so that they actually can grow to become a bit selfreliant, just by knowing that their adult guardian or parent is here. And, someone is there, actually, all the time, with a cell phone! brbrWith the number of left behind children we are seeing in our schools, on school outings and field trips, having instant communications is a saving grace so kids arent abandoned.brbrAnd, it sends a message to any potential abuser or pedophile that the kid has other power! It also sends a message to the school board, about the ability of kids to get their parents involved as something weird evolves. brbrLockdowns?? You gotta be kidding. I am there, and challenging the Law that there is no way, and no reason for them to hold my child against my will, and they will regret any missed suppers! brbrDefinitely by age , all the kids I know have a cell. It is how we can all call them to the party, the dinner, the homework session!brbrBut, in a community where most parents work, grand parents and adult guardians will pick up the slack, or the kids will become lost in so many ways. The cell in the hands of the children helps to coordinate their needs and where they really have been. brbr We all bake cookies, play, and swing in the front yard, on our culdesac. brbrAnd, there are definitely some rules of responsibility, regarding text messaging charges, etc... These teach responsibility...
